Yes, although only about 200 cases of leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) occur annually in the US, India is where the disease is most common. Like people with leprosy in the Scriptures, even today their lives can be isolated. Treatment with antibiotics is effective and people with Hansen’s disease can live normally in the community.
