I CONFESS, I LOVE SPORTS!

It doesn’t matter what kind of competitive event it might be, I want to be part of it. And I’m not a great athlete, but I hate to lose. I mean, I HATE TO LOSE! I’ll deny it, but my kids will tell you I have cheated them at Monopoly.

I like to think I am a little like the Apostle Paul, who laid everything on the line; however, I prefer not to be beaten or imprisoned. In his second letter to young Timothy, he said he had “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith”…II Timothy 4:7.

Time to step up
This has been a brutal year in many ways. Everyone has felt the effects of COVID-19. We, at HASTEN International, certainly have been challenged as never before. There are many reasons to slow down, stand still, back up, put things on hold, and wait for better days. That has not been our approach. We have asked you, our partners, to pray with us and seek God on behalf of our doctors, staff, and people in the countries where we serve. We have asked you to continue to help. We have watched as people have suffered great loss and yet God says, “Trust me, run the race and keep the faith.” Thank you for continuing to be faithful.

HE IS ABLE TO DO ABUNDANTLY MORE

I am amazed and a little embarrassed that I put limits on God’s ability to provide. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us….”

You may remember the story about our medical van in Mexico that stopped running at the ripe old age of nineteen. The word went out to our partners, and HASTEN presented a check for $10,000 to Workers for Mexico to purchase a replacement. This new van now travels to people in rural areas of Mexico with much needed medicine, clothing, and food.

In India, HASTEN works with the Henry family to provide healing for the body and soul, as well as nourishment for starving people.

In Africa, our ministry is seeing revival among the people at our new church, where 14 people were recently baptized. These individuals represents the power of the gospel and the work of HASTEN and our partners.

WHAT’S AHEAD IN 2021

We are committed to impacting thousands of lives this year with healing and salvation. Regardless of conditions in the countries we serve, HASTEN will continue to provide financial and spiritual support to our clinics and to our doctors and staff so that no one in need is turned away. We will look for opportunities to expand our outreach with mobile medical ministries. We will look for additional areas to invest our resources as you continue to support us.

Last year we began our Friends of HASTEN program and over 200 of you have signed up to pray for the work and contribute to the missions in the five countries where we serve. Thank you for your commitment!

In 2021, we know food is needed in India, equipment must be bought for the clinic in the Dominican Republic, and a Christian nurse is needed in the Zimbabwe clinic. COVID-19 supplies are needed throughout. As the Apostle Paul would do, let’s press on to the prize that God has laid before us, being thankful for the opportunity to serve.
